Vad vet vi om den nya flygstridsuniformen?

Under 2017 annonserade Försvarets materielverk (FMV) att de påbörjat leverans av en ny flygstridsuniform. Totalt levererades 2 900 uniformer till FMV i såväl grön som beige uppsättning. Tanken var att uniformen skulle fungera för såväl tekniker som flygande personal, och därmed kunna fungera som ersättare till nuvarande 90H. En nyhet var även att flamskyddet var i fibrerna samt att materialet var lättare än i övriga uniformer. Det var således mycket som talade för införandet av uniformen. Men någonting hände på vägen och några månader senare annonserades en ny upphandling av ett komplett uniformssystem som även benämndes som flygstridsuniform. Det systemet skulle vara komplett med såväl stridsskjorta som byxor och skalplagg, samt en ”överlevnadsstridsväst”.

Så i dagarna kom det bilder på det nya systemet i samband med ett nyhetsreportage om Försvarsmaktens stöd till sjukvården. Det här inlägget syftar således till att kortfattat titta på vad dessa bilder säger oss, och vad vi vet sen innan.

Upphandling av flygsstridsuniform m.m

FMV har publicerat en upphandling som innefattar ett helt nytt uniformssystem till flygande personal inom helikopter- och transportssfären. Upphandlingen innefattar flygstridsskjorta, flygstridsbyxor, skalplagg, softshell-jacka samt en ny överlevnadsväst. Nedan är utklipp från de krav som ställs på utformning. Det verkar onekligen hända en del inom materielspåret just nu vilket är positivt.

The Air Crew Combat Shirt shall:

• Be manufactured in sizes according to length and weight suitable for both men and women (uni-sex) The sizes shall be possible to produce to cover persons in Length (cm)/Weight (kg) from 155/45 to 210/115. Some general measurements are shown in Appendix 1.
• Have a front (half way) zipper; were position and insertion is suitable for to wear a Gear Carrier on top All zippers shall have a hide for the zipper slider.
• Pockets with zippers on left and right arm. The pockets shall on the outside have touch- and close fasteners of the minimum size 10×13 cm. The patch shall be sewn on with an open side upwards and divided in seam in two parts lengthwise.
• All zippers shall have a hide for the zipper slider.
• Pockets on each sleeve forearm for light stick/pen
• Have a stand-up collar.
• Have a lengthen back.
• Have “pre-bend” sleeves with adjustment for sleeve width
• Have the possibility to install elbow protection

The Air Crew Combat Trousers shall:

• Be manufactured in sizes according to length and weight suitable for both men and women. The sizes shall be possible to produce to cover persons in Length (cm)/Weight (kg) from 155/45 to 210/115. Some general measurements are shown in Appendix 1.
• Have pre-bend legs
• Have pockets with pocket flaps at the hips
• Have pockets with zipper; were insertion gives a smooth outer surface and give easy access to the pocket content. – right and left thigh pockets – right and left shin pockets – knife pocket outside the right thigh pocket There shall be a hide for the zipper slider for zippers in pockets
• Have a 2-way fly zipper
• Have loops for belt and braces.
• Be delivered with a belt, about 50 mm wide, easy adjustable in size and with a durable buckle
• Be delivered with braces, adjustable in size
• Have the possibility to easy install and remove knee protection from the outside. It shall be easy adjustable in position.

The Air Crew Shell Garment shall:

• Be manufactured in sizes according to length and weight suitable for both men and women (uni-sex) The sizes shall be possible to produce to cover persons in Length (cm)/Weight (kg) from 155/45 to 210/115. Some general measurements are shown in Appendix 1.

The Air Crew Shell Garment Jacket shall:

• Have collar and hood
• Have zippers; were position and insertion is suitable for to wear a Personal Survival Gear Carrier on top, including – 2-way front zipper – right and left chest pockets – right and left side pockets All zippers shall have a hide for the zipper slider.
• Have ventilation openings with zippers in the side seams
• Have inside breast pocket/s
• Have touch- and close fasteners on the right and left top sleeve, of the minimum size 10×13 cm
• Have the back lengthen
• Have “pre-bend” sleeves, with reinforcement on the elbow, an inner ribbing and outside adjustment of sleeve width at the wrist.
• Casing in hem with its adjustment placed in the side pockets.

The Air Crew Shell Garment Trousers shall:

• Have pre-bend legs with adjustable ankle width and connection to boots
• Have pockets with zippers at the hips were insertion is suitable for easy access and a smooth outer surface.
• Have a 2-way fly zipper
• Have 2-way zipper along the side seams. There shall be a hide for the zipper slider at the waist.
• Have loops for belt and braces.
• Be delivered with a belt, about 50 mm wide, easy adjustable in size and with a durable buckle
• Be delivered with braces, adjustable in size
• Have reinforced knees and back

The Air Crew Soft Shell Jacket shall:

• Be manufactured in sizes according to length and weight suitable for both men and women (uni-sex) The sizes shall be possible to produce to cover persons in Length (cm)/Weight (kg) from 155/45 to 210/115. Some general measurements are shown in Appendix 1.
• Have zippers; were position and insertion is suitable for to wear a Personal Survival Gear Carrier on top, including – 2-way front zipper – right and left chest pockets – right and left side pockets All zippers shall have a hide for the zipper slider.
• Pockets with zippers on left and right arm. The pockets shall on the outside have touch- and close fasteners of the minimum size 10×13 cm. The patch shall be sewn on with an open side upwards and divided in seam in two parts lengthwise.
• Pockets on each sleeve forearm for light stick/pen
• Have a stand-up collar.
• Have the back lengthen.
• Have “pre-bend” sleeves with a ribbing of cuff
• Have casing in the hem with its adjustment placed in the side pockets.

The Air Crew Combat Survival vest shall:

• Be manufactured in sizes adjustable to fit men and women in length (cm)/Weight (kg) from 155/45 to 210/115. Some general measurements are shown in Appendix 1. • Be easy to donne and doff. Should be possible to donne and doff without to remove the flight helmet.
• Have MOLLE system for to attach equipment in various pockets etc, for example: – PLB (Personal locator beacon) SARBE 101275-CS-N – Spare Air (Aqualung SEA LV2 or similar) – Medical kit – Different Utilities (2 pockets) – Gun Holster (Glock 17 and 19) – Gun Magazine (2 different)
• Be of low weight and volume
• Have handle in the neck t part, strong enough for dragging the person
• Have the possibility to insert ballistic protection level IIIA, III and IV at the front, side and back
• Have a design that makes it possible to easy dump the ballistic plates (III and IV, front and back)
• Have an attachable life vest collar, manually activated, which could possible also be worn on top of the Combat Vest, without being attached with the MOLLE system.

The in the system separate or included equipment/belt for prevention of falls from height shall be classified refer to EN 358.
